Saikyou Tank is the embodiment of an average story in every aspect. Is it bad though? If you are looking for something to pass your time with, something where you can just turn off your brain, then you might enjoy this – just like I did.

I’d say that the characters are fine, and the story overall is OK. Rud is your typical MC who was kicked out for being useless. His only quirk is that he is a siscon. And that’s where his motive lies. His sister, Manicia, is incurably ill and he is on his way to find magic stones that can grant a wish (to cure her). To do that, he needs to defeat dungeon masters. So he gathers a party of cute girls and ventures into dungeons and defeats (and sometimes befriends) said dungeon masters.

As for some other characters – there is Nin, the saint and Rud’s companion, who is quite fond of Rud. Rud's sister Manicia – she is just a cute girl with a moving ahoge (it basically acts like a dog’s tail). Then the twins – Lily and Lilia, who can fuse together, which is interesting. Luna, the homunculus is nice, too. And I also like Marius and Amon, too.

Overall, as I said, this is average through and through, but I enjoyed it. I think I can rate this a fair – 6/10.

This show is cringe as hell that I laugh for the entire show even in its sad time lmao. I mean there is really nothing to hype up because it feels too plot armor to me. Everything goes too well for him with no brainer execution.

i agree but if it was me, i would score that a 4/10 because the bad aspects really outshine the ones youve talked about. Im at least able to sit through this but only because a plot with an OP MC that is a tank is very rare but...

The plot is really messy, he just wants to go home first, then he wants to build a guild? then he wants to cure his sister? now he wants to defeat Greed? His motive is really all over the place and lacks direction. There are tons of stuff that do not make sense too.

Side characters are really interesting but... Like many animes, it feels like the side characters development has to go through the MC first. They have to come to him and when he says something or does something, they are suddenly enlightened and relieved of any problem they ever had...

I could continue on and on haha but what really made this anime go to 4/10 for me is that the whole 12 episodes just give off a "i have the power of teamwork and friendship" ahh vibes

such is life mate, life can be unpredictable sometimes, and in his world it was exceptionally so. When life gives you lemons. Make more lemons.

Average as it may be, being that I don't read from the source material. I notice differences from different anime.That this anime has done a few things differently and created the twists that Rud is possibly a half-breed demonoid or one of his parents were and that he is exceptionally capable of managing a labyrinth. The ways of dungeon building and monster adding to dungeons has never before been revealed to us as a system.

Therefore, for the source material's originality I gave it 7.5/10 which means it's slightly above average to me.

I think you people who watch a bunch of animes and throw your worthless opinions out based on a single season that basically only telling the beginning of a story, there are holes to the story cause it's only the start, obviously. The same way you read a book and chapter one doesn't say it all. Don't like the show, don't watch it period. No one needs you half assed opinions of a show that just started. Anime elitists and harem worshippers are what's wrong with the genre and usually avoid comments but some people just watch shows, to watch shows...they aren't all expected to be 10/10 but stop giving opinions like Season 1 is supposed to be a masterpiece.

Personal thoughts:
As far as anything this is as I mention mediocre and generic as the same idea of a banish member of a hero party and ofc he's a shield wielder (*cough Naofumi clone chough*)

The story is bland and generic, and even stiff like the whole series was going through out the eps process. Rud being a brocon was fine and not really a dirty way as it seems.
The waifu characters were nice and all but can be forgettable, the twins were some of the major highlights with them fusing and love how they did it ( ͡¬ ͜ʖ ͡¬) Manicia character was cute and her ahogi was adorable but the whole situation around getting resolve was something left to be desired and left dragging out to long.

As far as anything it was a okay watch with not being a terrible show but it's skippable and sadly for being bland and mid it's a 4.5/10 rating.

Overall a decent anime.
It has a nice message of working hard for what you want without giving up no matter the obstacles and of course for family.
Even the former Hero turned a new leaf thanks to Rud and his former party members.

Greed was a easy opponent when compared to Marius and Amon.

Is nice that the town continued a path of cooperation and prosperity.

The general concept is nothing to base this show off of. The ‘ban from hero party’ point is so small of a plot device at this point, its only used for a launch point, which is fine.

The characters were unique. The generic reason to fight (for family) is fine. The story and arks were pretty unique and good. I felt what the MC does between each fight had some weight to it. And the MC isnt stupid OP, which made a party worth it.

Only real issue, as this is more of an anime thing in general, is the cut content. Meh.
A lesser gripe in my personal desires was that the MC didnt really grow. Achievements arnt really growth. Changes for good or bad is character growth. Yes he discovered some skills. But then thats it.

It was a 5.5/10. Recommended? Nope. Alright watch though.

Like a few others said. Quite a generic anime. It was quite entertaining for me except for this last battle/episode: What a letdown.... It felt like the studio didn't put much into this fight like they did with the fights before (Marius, Amon). Almost felt like a filler battle to end this already. The fact he could transfer all the absorb shields on himself kinda contradicted the description of his skill which, as I recall, should be something like "the damage the affected party member takes from the point that Rud activates his skill is transferred into the pool for life conversion and substracted from Ruds Absorb Shield". However when he "activated" this spell, it looked like all the absorb shields of the people got ADDED to his shield, resulting in the 100000 points of Absorb Shield of his.
This kinda ruined it for me.
All in all 6.5/10 for Ep. 1-11 but minus 2 for the 12th so
